Types of Screenings Available

The type of screening you need depends on several factors, including what type of drugs you’re monitoring for and what guidelines you’re complying with. Whatever your needs, we’re confident that at least one of the screening types we offer will fulfill them.

  • Urine testing

Urine testing is the most common type of drug screening and is mandated by the Department of Transportation. A urine drug test can detect cannabis (marijuana), cocaine, opiates, methamphetamine, and other drugs. Urinalysis is currently the only approved drug-testing method for workplaces covered by federal guidelines.

  • Saliva testing

Saliva screening offers the advantage of being able to detect very recent drug usage, unlike other tests that may not show evidence of drugs until they’ve passed through the user’s system. Saliva screening is helpful in identifying chronic drug abuse.

  • Blood testing

Blood screening tests are the most accurate, but they also have the narrowest window of detection for drugs in the system. They’re often used at accident sites to establish whether anyone involved was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Hair testing

Non-invasive and simple, hair testing can detect regular and chronic use of drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamines, and opiates. These drugs become undetectable in urine after three to four days, but hair testing gives a window of up to 90 days.
